ClassicZoo 4.32

ClassicZoo 4.32 is now out! As usual, it's a minor release with some notable features.

The biggest changes come to fans of the NEC PC-9801, the Japanese non-IBM-compatible but DOS-powered platform. This version rewrites the graphical subsystem from the ground up to allow for full 16-color rendering of game worlds!

(Pictured: Ezanya: Remastered, a 2022 remaster of a 1992 ZZT game which you should absolutely check out.)

Of course, even with the GRCG (Graphics Charger)'s acceleration, the new mode adds some performance penalty. For those playing ZZT on low-end PC-98 machines (think PC-9801VM), the Options screen allows you to switch between the old mode ("Text"), new mode ("EGC"), and an inbetween mode ("GRCG") which keeps the 8-color limit, but allows separate background and foreground colors - bumping the number of color pairs from 16 to 64 - with a smaller performance penalty than the full "EGC" mode.

The other big changes come to users of the editor! Two new features are:

- the ability to use and toggle "blinking"/"high" colors,

- the option to show sizes of boards and object data in bytes in text windows.

In addition, many minor bugs and issues were fixed across all ports.

Thank you for supporting ClassicZoo and I hope you enjoy this update!
